Fashion Show
Our Pickering & Malton branch held a Fashion Show on 8th March. Despite the bad weather it wasa good turn out and we raised £236.20. Lots of people were buying clothes and we were given 10% of the amount taken. We were pleased to welome new people who haven't been to our events before and they are now looking forward to the Auction next month. |

1st Birthday Celebrations
Thank you to everyone who supported us in our first year. We had an exciting year, raising much needed funds for the charity and raising our profile in the Pickering and Malton area. We couldn't let our 1st birthday pass without celebrating. One of our supporters Jenny Ruston made a lovely Birthday cake in the shape of a dog bowl, filled with dog food and a bone on top. We had lots of supporters and their dogs at the event. The guests were given a lovely buffet and the dogs had a lovely time. It was nice to meet some of our rescue dogs again looking so well and happy. The other photo is the founder members of the group,John Jen & myself (Kate). We organised lots of events in the first year including our auction and wine tasting evenings. We have had a lot of tombolas and thanks to our supporters we have had lots of lovely prizes given. We are hoping to have more volunteers to help out in the coming year too. |

Final Total for Auction.
We have received the £1 for £1 from Barclays Bank forour Charity Auction in the sum of £750.00. We have now closed the auction and the final total is £3,167.70. A big thank you to all who donated or helped in any way. We are in the process of arranging one for next year and already have a few pledges. Hopefully this will be bigger and better. |
Wine Tasting
Pickering & Malton Branch held their first Wine Tasting Evening on 14th June at The Old Manse Pickering. There were only a few people attending but we will have raised a lot of money when we get the donation of £1 per bottle from Geoff Walker when everyone collects their wine. To date our fund raising has passed the £5000 mark since we stared last October. We still have a donation to come in from the Auction and have 2 events this month. |
Tombola Stall at The Jubilee Celebrations, The Castle, Pickering
Our well stocked table didn't stay that way for long! After setting up at 9am the table was empty by 2pm, raising a fantastic total of £137.32. A huge thank you to all our supporters. |
GOING, GOING, GONE!
The gavel came down on a grand total of £2,012 at our recent Auction but we are hoping the final figure will be nearer £3,000. We would like to extend a special thanks to our auctioneer, Peter Illingworth, for being so entertaining and involving the children, making it a family event. Many thanks also to Father Antony for opening the event. |
